Coming from a long line of 整体 Japanese SEITAI (including her grandfather, an acupuncturist who received an offer from the Japanese royal family) and inspired by her own lifelong struggle with epilepsy, Mayumi has studied massage techniques in both Japan and Australia, with Dr. Ken Yamamotoin 2011 (KYT technique) , Dr. Makoto Minami in 2014 (Nihon-dento-ryoho　日本伝統療法) & Yasuharu Sato in 2023 (TENRYO-JUTSU天療術).

She has been practicing massage for over 15 years, the last five focusing on employing and spreading Japanese technique to her Australian patients. She has worked in a range of clinical environments, and for a wide range of patients, including Hollywood celebrities!

Mayumi has attained massage accreditation in Japan and Australia and has been practicing in Australia since 2007.

​

Granted permanent residency in Australia through a business sponsorship with The spa  at the Observatory Hotel in 2016 (current Langham hotel) in Sydney, Mayumi opened MHClinic in Pymble in 2018, alpha remedial in Haymarket to bring her passion for health to her own patients in her own business.
